About Me

Gerald Frederick recently retired from The Dow Chemical Company after 28 years. Prior to Dow his experience includes a Production Engineering role for Uniroyal Chemical, Raylo Chemical, and NOVA Chemicals.
While at Dow, participated on a team that successfully completed 2 world scale Ethylene Crackers: namely the LHC-1 Cracker in Fort Saskatchewan, Canada (1994) and the Mixed Feed Cracker in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia (2016). The completion of each project included: project feasibility / scope definition, design, construction, and continuing through and including commissioning, start up, and plant operation.
During the years between the Cracker projects, worked as a Production Engineer in the Fort Saskatchewan plant and as a Furnace Subject Matter Expert in the Dow Hydrocarbon Technology Center supporting the existing furnaces around the Globe. During this time completed various project phases for Cracker (furnace) projects in Argentina, Texas, and Kuwait.
Gerald has a B. Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Alberta and is a registered Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
