Field Services

The fired heaters are often identified as an elevated temperature critical equipment, needing continuous attention. Most of the time, the heaters are not operating at their original design conditions.

Field service usually involves Troubleshooting because it is common to encounter problems like high tube skin temperatures, high excess air operation, vibration, excess corrosion or positive pressure in fired heaters.  This field visit will identify the root cause using our hands on practical experience and give economical recommendations to solve the real problem.

This will involve the following but not limited to:

  • Energy survey
  • Furnace audit
  • Burner Management audit
  • Reliability audit
  • Combustion optimization

Revamp Services

Revamping fired heaters is a practical and effective way to improve heater performance.  This strategy focuses on working with existing components and as a result, capital investment and downtime are minimized.

Revamping services may be as simple as Re-tubing the fired heater and/or Upgrading the convection section.  However, a fired heater revamping project typically has the following phases:

  • Phase I → Engineering Study +/- 30% Cost Estimates.
  • Phase II → Project Design Basis Report with +/- 10% Cost Estimates.
  • Phase III → Detailed Engineering and Project Services.

The scope of services includes but is not limited to:

  • Engineering (3rd party company to carry out Mechanical and Structural Design work, and Detailed Engineering)
  • Project Management
  • Procurement
  • Fabrication
  • Site Services (Commissioning and Start-up (heater tuning & optimization), Preparation of Operating Manuals, and Preparation of Operating Procedures)

New Heater Design Services

New Fired heater design follows the same strategy as Revamping fired heaters.  API 560 is used as a very good guideline.  If the client has specifications then this will be incorporated into the design.

Fired heater design project typically has the following phases:

  • Phase I → Engineering Study +/- 30% Cost Estimates.
  • Phase II → Project Design Basis Report with +/- 10% Cost Estimates.
  • Phase III → Detailed Engineering and Project Services.

The scope of services includes but is not limited to:

  • Pre-Engineering (Feasibility study based on input from the client as it pertains to parameters)
  • Development of API Data Sheets
  • Engineering (3rd party company to carry out Mechanical and Structural Design work, and Detailed Engineering)
  • Project Management
